“Top Gun: Maverick,” “SpongeBob” Pushed Back

Paramount Pictures has made new changes to its release schedule – adjusting the dates for Tom Cruise’s “Top Gun: Maverick,” “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run,” and “A Quiet Place Part II”.

“Top Gun: Maverick” has been delayed six months and will now open December 23rd.

“The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run” has moved back two months to July 31st.

“A Quiet Place Part II,” which was originally slated for late April, will now debut on September 4th.

Finally the Chris Pratt-led sci-fi “The Tomorrow War,” originally set for December, has been pulled from the schedule for now.

“Top Gun: Maverick” is seen as one of the last major tentpoles of the Summer that had yet to make a move in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
