“Top Gun: Maverick” Sets Home Release

Top Gun Maverick Reviews Soar High
Paramount Pictures

Paramount Pictures has finally locked down home video release dates for “Top Gun: Maverick” following the film’s immense success both with critics and at the box-office.

The film, which recently swept past “Titanic” at the domestic box-office and has grossed well over $1.3 billion worldwide (and is still going), will boast an unexpectedly large gap between its digital and disc releases – one of over two months.

Firstly the legacy sequel will score a digital release on various platforms next Tuesday, August 23rd. Those wanting to score the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD versions of the film, however, will have to wait all the way until November 1st for the physical release.

Extras for the UHD and Blu-ray include featurettes about the film’s making, the cast’s flight training, Cruise’s love of aviation, and the experimental plane designs of the film. There’s also video of Cruise talking his career at Cannes, music videos from Lady Gaga and OneRepublic, and the “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One”.
