Paramount has once again delayed its upcoming Tom Cruise tentpoles – “Top Gun: Maverick” and the seventh “Mission: Impossible” film – over COVID-19 concerns.
“Top Gun: Maverick” is being moved from November 19th to May 27th 2022. “Mission: Impossible 7” is exiting its May 27th 2022 slot for a September 30th 2022 release.
In addition, the comedy “Jackass Forever” is also being delayed by four months – moving from October 22nd this year to February 4th 2022.
The moves come as concerns over the delta variant continue to hamper movie exhibition, especially overseas.
