Paramount and Skydance’s high-profile and long-delayed blockbuster “Top Gun: Maverick” is set to premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival – days before its Memorial Day premiere in U.S. cinemas.
Cannes runs May 17th-28th this year, crossing over with the big-budget sequel’s international rollout which kicks off Thursday, May 26th ahead of a North American release on Friday, May 27th.
This would mark the first time in thirty years a Tom Cruise film has been screened at Cannes. It will not be the film’s world premiere though, that takes place in San Diego where the first film was set.
Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Monica Barbaro, Ed Harris and Val Kilmer co-star in the film which was helmed by Joseph Kosinski.
