Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that “Top Gun: Maverick” has become as big a smash hit on home video as it has theatrically.

Hitting digital platforms on August 23rd, the film has reportedly become the No. 1 week-one digital sell-through title of all time in the United States along with multiple major territories around the world.

In addition, it has already become one of the Top 20 best-selling digital releases in history after being available for just one week. The digital release was also the top-selling item on Amazon in the U.S. across every category on the site on the first day.

Despite the home video availability, the film’s box-office drop-off remains stable, with the film now at more than $1.4 billion globally.

The film’s final stage of release – its 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD release – will take place on November 1st.
