“The Batman” and “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” director Matt Reeves and his 6th & Idaho production company have landed an overall first-look film deal at Warner Bros. Pictures.
This marks the first such overall deal made since the appointment of Warners’ new film division CEOs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy. In addition, Reeves has re-upped with the Warner Bros. Television Group.
Under the deal, Warners will have first-look rights to Reeves’ work as a writer, director and/or producer. Reeves will soon get to work on “The Batman” sequel, which he reportedly is co-writing with Mattson Tomlin, who did uncredited work on the first film. The writing process is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
