Photos and video have emerged from the set of the currently in-production live-action “Tomb Raider” TV series for Amazon Prime Video.
The shots and video reveal actress Sophie Turner in action filming scenes as Lara Croft that include a parachute stunt over water in a wooded area, and her character sporting a tactical suit with hip holsters.
The series is expected to feature Lara Croft as an established adventurer and archaeologist and to have a 1990s vibe. It was first announced in January 2023. It is rumoured to involve Norse Mythology and Ragnarok, but will not be tied to the “Tomb Raider: Underworld” game that was Norse-themed.
British actress/writer and Emmy winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge created, wrote scripts, and executive produces the series. Chad Hodge is also on board as executive producer and co-showrunner.
Also starring are Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, Bill Paterson, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Celia Imrie, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, and August Wittgenstein.
Jonathan van Tulleken will serve as director and executive producer on the series
