Netflix has handed out a green light to the Norwegian monster movie “Troll” which “The Wave” and “Tomb Raider” reboot director Roar Uthaug will helm.
Inspired by Scandinavian legend, the story imagines a gigantic creature escaping from a millennia old imprisonment within the Norwegian mountains.
Enraged, the huge troll rampages through the countryside and is headed for the Norwegian capital of Oslo. Uthaug helms from his original idea while Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud will produce.
Netflix plans to release “Troll” worldwide sometime in 2022.
