Tom Hiddleston will star in the Apple limited series “The White Darkness” based on David Grann’s nonfiction book for Apple Studios and UCP.
The story is inspired by the true-life account of Henry Worsley, a devoted husband, father, former soldier, and a man deeply obsessed with adventure. That manifests in an epic journey to cross Antarctica on foot.
“Pachinko” showrunner Soo Hugh will serve as writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner alongside Mark Heyman as executive producer and co-showrunner.
This marks Hiddleston’s second Apple series following next month’s “The Essex Serpent” in which he stars alongside Claire Danes. Hiddleston will shortly begin shooting the second season of “Loki” for the Disney+ service.
