Tom Ford’s “Cry to Heaven” Sets Its Cast

The full cast list has been revealed for fashion designer turned “A Single Man” and “Nocturnal Animals” filmmaker Tom Ford’s next feature “Cry to Heaven”.

An adaptation of the novel by Anne Rice, the 18th-century Italy-set tale has been adapted by Ford, who also directs and produces through his Fade To Black production company label.

The cast will include Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Ciarán Hinds, George MacKay, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, Paul Bettany, Owen Cooper, Daryl McCormack, Thandiwe Newton, Hunter Schafer, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Josephine Thiesen, Theodore Pellerin, Cassian Bilton, Hauk Hannemann and Lux Pascal.

in addition, singer Adele will make her feature film debut in the movie. The story follows two unlikely collaborators: a Venetian noble and a castrated singer from Calabria, both trying to succeed in the world of the opera.

Ford ultimately decided to self-finance the film and shoot on his own terms, with plans to take it out to market after production has ended. Ford sold his Tom Ford fashion label to Estee Lauder in 2023 for $2.8 billion.

Pre-production is currenty underway in London and Rome with filming to begin mid-January for a Fall 2026 release.
