Tom Cruise, Winnie the Pooh Set For Coronation

Paramount Pictures, Disney

Tom Cruise, Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger and A.A. Milne’s fictional character Winnie the Pooh are all confirmed to be appearing as part of King Charles III’s coronation celebrations in the United Kingdom.

The coronation will honor King Charles’ ascension to the throne following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth last year.

The latest trio are confirmed for the Coronation Concert, which will take place in the grounds of Windsor Castle the day after the historic ceremony. All three have attended previous royal events.

Cruise and Pooh will join “Dynasty” star Dame Joan Collins, singer Sir Tom Jones, adventurer Bear Grylls and dancer Oti Mabuse in the line-up of celebs doing a series of pre-recorded videos in which they will reveal “little-known facts about the King”.

Meanwhile Paloma Faith, Tiwa Savage, Steve Winwood, Olly Murs, club DJ Pete Tong, world-renowned pianist Lang Lang and Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor will also appear on stage alongside previously announced Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Hugh Bonneville will host the proceedings.

Some 20,000 members of the public are expected to attend the Coronation Concert. The King’s coronation ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 6th with the Coronation Concert to follow on the evening of Sunday, May 7th.

It marks the second bit of Winnie the Pooh news today following this morning’s report Boat Rocker and Bay Mills Studios are developing “Christopher Robin,” an R-rated comedy TV series reimagining of A.A. Milne’s characters by writer Charlie Kesslering.

In the new take, Christopher Robin is now a disillusioned New Yorker navigating his quarter-life crisis with the help of the weird talking animals who live beyond a drug-induced portal outside his derelict apartment complex – The Hundred Acres.
