Swedish filmmaker Tomas Alfredson is back.

Alfredson broke out with the acclaimed vampire drama “Let the Right One In,” and then delivered the stunning adaptation of John le Carre’s “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”.

He sadly stumbled with his adaptation of Jo Nesbo’s “The Snowman” though, a problematic film that reportedly had multiple production issues.

Now he returns with plans to direct a TV series adaptation of the Liv Ullman-directed and Ingmar Bergman-penned 2000 film “Faithless”.

The story explores the relationship between passion and love through an erotic triangle. A man David falls in love with his best friend Mark’s wife, the beautiful Marianne. Said love affair has painful consequences for two families.

Miso Film and Swedish broadcaster SVT are backing the six-part series from writer Sara Johnsen (“July 22”).
