NBC’s U.S. historical time travel drama “Timeless” had many fans over its roller coaster run.
Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett and Goran Visnjic starred in the family-oriented sci-fi series created by two famous TV alum – The Shield’s Shawn Ryan and Supernatural’s Eric Kripke.
Originally set at 13 episodes, the first season got bumped up to 16 episodes, was cancelled, then renewed a few days later for a 10 episode second season, then cancelled, then granted a two-hour telemovie in 2018 to close things off.
Kripke recently spoke with Collider where talk of “Timeless” came up and he was asked if the series was really over or could they eventually come back in some way. Kripke said:
“There is always the possibility of more TV movies. I know the actors are game to do it. Shawn (Ryan) and I, I can’t say we’ve talked about it a lot, but we’ve chatted back and forth in emails and said, ‘One of these days we should try and get another Timeless TV movie going.’ We don’t have any immediate plans for it. Everyone’s busy and working on all their various projects. One day it might happen.”
Ryan has since gone on to CBS’ “S.W.A.T.” while Kripke is now in charge of Amazon’s “The Boys”.
