Golfing star Tiger Woods has struck a longterm partnership with sports video game publisher 2K.
As part of the deal, Woods name and likeness will appear exclusively in the PGA Tour 2K golf simulation franchise along with any other golf-themed games published by the company.
Woods will also serve as executive director and consultant for the PGA Tour 2K series. In addition, 2K will acquire “PGA Tour 2K21” developer HB Studios following that game’s recent release becoming the fastest-selling golf game in a decade.
These will join 2K’s portfolio which includes franchises like “Bioshock,” “Mafia” and “Borderlands” along with the publishing of Rockstar Games’ titles like “Grand Theft Auto” and “Red Dead Redemption”.
The deal comes on the heels of Woods being involved in a severe car accident in which he sustained multiple fractures and required surgery on his right leg.
