Fourteen years since Bryan Bertino’s creepy home invasion slasher film “The Strangers” and four since its sequel, it looks as though that franchise is about to go much further.
Bloody Disgusting’s The Boo Crew Podcast recently spoke with Roy Lee (“IT,” “Blair Witch,” “The Ring”), the horror superproducer who helped get the original made.
When he was asked about the possibility of another “Strangers” movie, the response was entirely unexpected: “I think the next three are in production next month with another filmmaker that people will know.”
Lee didn’t share any other details, and it’s not clear who would handle the new films (Universal Pictures had the first, Aviron Pictures the second). Lee’s next film is the raved-about AirBnB horror tale “Barbarian”, which hits cinemas next month.
