Taylor Russell (“Bones and All”) has abruptly exited the latest incarnation of “The Thomas Crown Affair” which has been filming in London for almost two weeks already.
Michael B. Jordan directs and stars in this second reimagining of the classic 1968 Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway-led film. The property was previously remade by John McTiernan in 1999 with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo in the leads.
Russell had the lead female role of an insurance investigator who suspects that an adventurous banking executive is pulling off ambitious heists. Soon, romantic sparks develop between them.
Sources for Deadline indicate her exit was due to creative differences. The studio is rushing to recast the role as production continues in London.
Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, Pilou Asbaek and Aiysha Hart co-star in the film while Jordan, Charles Roven and Elizabeth Raposo are producing. Drew Pearce wrote the script.
Russell is presently in talks to star in a remake of “Single White Female” opposite Jenna Ortega for Sony and Elizabeth Gabler’s 3000 Pictures.
