Theo Rossi Teases “Sons of Anarchy” Return

FX

Whilst FX’s “Sons of Anarchy” already had a spin-off with “Mayans M.C.,” series creator Kurt Sutter has hinted at something else being in the works for a while.

The closest we got to a hint was a quote from years back in which Sutter says he wants to explore the story of Jax’s son Abel. Today, former series regular Theo Rossi indicated that whatever is coming, we can expect to hear about it soon.

In the original series, Rossi played Juice Ortiz. Like many of the show’s main characters, Juice died during its run and so his character likely wouldn’t be involved if this was a direct sequel.

Appearing at a panel discussion about “Emily the Criminal” at Soho Works in Los Angeles on Friday, Rossie tells Deadline:

“There might be something coming up where we’re all back together, which is insane. Charlie [Hunnam]’s gonna announce something soon. If it happens, it’s wild, but if it doesn’t it would be perfect and really cool because we also talk every day.”

He was then asked if it was an idea for a “Sons of Anarchy” movie to which he smiled cryptically and said: “It’s totally different. It’s really cool.”

The series was a curious one in that it was well reviewed, especially in its early seasons with the first two in particular highly acclaimed, and immensely popular but never received any awards love.

Rossi will next be seen in the action thriller “Carry On” which follows a TSA agent (Taron Egerton) blackmailed into carrying a suspicious package on board an aircraft. Rossi calls it a “Die Hard” homage and says Jason Bateman and himself are “playing Alan Rickman and the blonde twins”. Jaume Collet-Serra directs.
