After the show’s second season took over a year to complete in the time of the pandemic, the third season of Netflix’s fantasy series “The Witcher” has been tough but completed in less than half that time.
Shooting on the Henry Cavill-led fantasy series began April 4th and now it has been reported by the show’s third season finale director Bola Ogun on her Instagram account that production has officially wrapped.
Executive producer Steve Gaub subsequently posted a photo from the set on Instagram to confirm. Cavill sent out a note thanking the crew for their work and their “determination and dedication through a tough shoot”.
The plan now is to get some well-deserved rest. The series notably halted its shoot in July after Cavill tested positive COVID, but it didn’t keep him down long it seems.
This shoot spanned a bunch of locations, including Slovenia, Croatia, Morocco, parts of the Sahara, Wales, Surrey and Longcross Studios in England.
Netflix hasn’t revealed a release date for a third season. The second season wrapped wight months out from its airing, which suggests a potential early Summer 2023 release. The first two seasons are now on Netflix.
