“The Witcher” Season 3, Part 2 Series Trailer

Netflix

Netflix has premiered the first trailer for the back half of the third season of its big-budget fantasy drama “The Witcher” based on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski.

The new season has been split into two, with the first five episodes premiering back on June 29th two weeks ago, while the remaining three episodes will appear in two weeks on July 27th.

The third season was shot between April and September last year, with filming taking place in Slovenia, Croatia, Morocco, parts of the Sahara, Wales, Surrey and Longcross Studios in England.

Series creator and showrunner Lauren Hissrich has previously indicated the new season is primarily an adaptation of “Time of Contempt,” one of the more action-heavy entries into Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel series.

The new run marks Henry Cavill’s final outing in the role of Geralt of Rivia, with Liam Hemsworth taking over the part for the show’s fourth and fifth seasons. The trailer hints at the change, with Geralt looking like he’ll barely survive his battles this time.

Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey co-star in the series.
