Netflix has added seven cast members to “The Witcher” as production begins in the UK on the show’s second season which will launch in early 2021.
Returnees include Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as the sorceress Yennefer, Freya Allan as Ciri, Joey Batey as Jaskier, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, and many others.
They’re joined by Yasen Atour (“Young Wallander”) as Coen, Agnes Bjorn as Vereena, Paul Bullion (“Peaky Blinders”) as Lambert, Thue Ersted Rasmussen (“F9: The Fast Saga”) as Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross (“The Danish Girl”) as Lydia, Kristofer Hivju (“Game of Thrones”) as Nivellen, and Mecia Simson as Francesca.
Stephen Surjik (“Umbrella Academy”) will direct episode 201 and 202, Sarah O’Gorman (“Cursed”) helms episodes 203 and 204, Ed Bazalgette (“The Last Kingdom”) tackles episodes 205 and 208, and Geeta Patel (“Meet The Patels”) handles episodes 206 and 207.
Lauren Schmidt Hissrich returns as showrunner on the new season which follows on from last year’s debut season which was watched by 76 million viewers within its first month of release.
