Netflix has premiered yet one more trailer for the third season of its big-budget fantasy drama “The Witcher” based on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski.
The clip puts the focus on the first part of the new season, which will run for five episodes arriving this Thursday, June 29th. The remaining three episodes for the season appear four weeks later, on July 27th.
Series creator and showrunner Lauren Hissrich has previously indicated the new season is primarily an adaptation of “Time of Contempt,” one of the more action-heavy entries into Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel series.
In the season, dangerous forces are trying to tear them apart as Geralt and Yennefer fight to keep Ciri safe whilst war brews on the Continent.
The new run is said to be closest to a one-to-one adaptation of the books thus far. It marks Henry Cavill’s final outing in the role of Geralt of Rivia, with Liam Hemsworth taking over the part for the show’s fourth and fifth season.
Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey co-star in the series which was filmed in Slovenia, Croatia, Morocco, parts of the Sahara, Wales, Surrey and Longcross Studios in England.
