Irish actor Laurence O’Fuarain (“Vikings”) has landed the secondary lead role opposite Jodie Turner-Smith in the six-part prequel series “The Witcher: Blood Origin” at Netflix.
O’Fuarain plays Fjall, born into a clan of warriors sworn to protect a King and still hurt by the death of a loved one who fell in battle trying to save him.
The series is set 1,200 years before the events of the main series and deals with the creation of the first prototype Witcher and the conjunction of the spheres. Declan de Barra will act as showrunner and executive producer.
That’s not the only genre series that has cast a key role today. Katia Winter (“Sleepy Hollow,” “Dexter”) has been cast in the recurring role of Little Nina in the currently in production third season of Amazon’s “The Boys”.
In the comics, Little Nina is a Russian mob boss with a penchant for sex toys and who is working with Vought international. Her colorful demise ranks among the comics most memorable moments.
