“The Witcher 3” Gets New DLC In 2027

CD Projekt Red

CD Projekt has officially announced that twelve years after it was released, “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is set to get a third expansion.

Titled ‘Songs of the Past’, the DLC will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2027 and has been developed by Fool’s Theory – a team full of industry veterans who worked on the original game.

In the expansion, players return to the role of legendary monster slayer Geralt of Rivia for a brand new adventure. Further specifics as to the story will be coming in late Summer 2026.

“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” was released in 2015 to much acclaim and is now considered one of the greatest video games ever made with over 60 million copies sold in a decade. Two expansions were also released: “Hearts of Stone” and “Blood and Wine”.

The news was originally planned for an anniversary live stream later this week but a leak moved up those plans. That live stream will still take place on May 28th at 11am US-ET.

The news comes as CD Projekt is currently working on multiple projects in the franchise, including “The Witcher 4,” a remake of the first one, and a multiplayer title.
