DC Studios chief James Gunn has now released a full image of the mural spotted in the Hall of Justice scene in “Superman”.
The mural is rendered in glass mosaics and modeled on a design that is housed in the Cincinnati Museum Center to depict the state’s history. Here, however, it depicts the story of metahumans in the DCU
Gunn adds that one of the mural characters had already been cast in the DCU with a famous actor, and made it clear he’s not referring to his brother Sean Gunn’s Maxwell Lord, who appears in the mural.
Characters spotted in the mural include Wildcat, Super-Chief, Shining Knight, Gunfire, Atomic Knight, Vibe, Dr. Fate, Freedom Beast, Black Pirate, Dolphin and Amethyst. Theories are already flying as to who and what.
Gunn also says a “ton of thought” was put into the mural. Asked if we will be seeing these characters in the DCU at some point, he told Collider earlier this week: “Not necessarily specifically see all of them. But yes, some of them we already have in the works in different things in different ways.”
The $225 million budget film has so far grossed $437.7 million worldwide and has overtaken the total gross of “Captain America: Brave New World” ($415m).
