CBS All Access’ new limited series adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Stand” has set a December 17th premiere date on the streaming service.
The story deals with a global pandemic known as ‘Captain Tripps’ which wipes out 99% of the world’s population. The survivors are immune to the disease, but are ultimately forced to fight each other as some are drawn to the light, and others to darkness.
The cast includes Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abagail, Alexander Skarsgard as Randall Flagg, James Marsden as Stu Redman, Amber Heard as Nadine Cross, Jovan Adepo as Larry Underwood, Heather Graham as Rita Blakemoor, Owen Teague as Harold Lauder, and Odessa Young as Frannie Goldsmith.
Josh Boone (“The New Mutants”) directs, writes and produces the new series while Ben Cavell serves as showrunner, co-writer and executive producer.
