“The Secret Garden” Going To PVOD

STXfilms and Studiocanal has announced that Marc Munden’s forthcoming film adaptation of “The Secret Garden” is foregoing a theatrical release and will debut on PVOD instead.

Originally set to hit cinemas in April, the film will now arrive Friday, August 7th on VOD services at a suggested retail price of $19.99.

Colin Firth, Julie Walters, Dixie Egerickx, Amir Wilson amd Isis Davis star in this latest adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic novel which Jack Thorne penned the script for.

In the film, Young Mary Lennox becomes an orphan in 19th-century India after her parents succumb to cholera. She’s sent to live with her uncle Archibald Craven in the English countryside and gets to know the servants, who become her only real friends in the large house.

Her world changes dramatically, however, when a mysterious robin introduces her to a secret garden full of adventures, and she encounters a cousin she never knew she had.
