HBO Max has reportedly added Theo Rossi (“Sons of Anarchy”), Michael Zegen (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”), James Madio (“The Offer”), and Scott Cohen (“The Americans”) to the cast of “The Batman” spin-off TV series “The Penguin”.

All will reportedly have recurring roles in the eight-episode series which is led by Colin Farrell reprising his role of Oswald ‘The Penguin’ Cobblepot.

Farrell is joined by Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, and Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Deirdre O’Connell in supporting roles.

Taking place within days to weeks after the first film’s end with the death of Carmine Falcone (Jon Turturro) and parts of Gotham City still somewhat flooded. A fight for control of Gotham’s underworld is underway as The Penguin, Sofia Falcone, and Maroni battle for control.

Zegen is set to play Alberto Falcone, Carmine’s son and Sofia’s brother. In the comics, the character takes credit for being the serial killer known as The Holiday Killer who targets Gotham gangsters on a holiday each month.

Character specifics about the other three new additions are under wraps. DC Studios chief James Gunn recently shot down a report indicating Robert Pattinson might not appear as Batman in the series due to a legal rights issue – saying no such legal issue exists.

Lauren LeFranc is the writer, executive producer, and showrunner whilst Farrell, Craig Zobel, Matt Reeves and Dylan Clark executive produce. Filming is currently underway in New York City.
