After a decade, the Tom Hiddleston-led espionage thriller series “The Night Manager” returns with a new season commencing this Sunday on Amazon Prime Video.
The first three episodes will arrive on that date with the remainder releasing weekly through the finale on February 1st.
Those involved say should it perform well enough, and it’s expected to, the gap between a second and third season won’t be so long.
Georgi Banks-Davies directed the entire six-episode second season and in a new interview with Variety, he says plans for a third season have already begun begin laid out by creator David Farr:
“There was a third season that was always in the offing. David is writing it now – he’s at the coalface and in the early stage. But yeah, when the second season came, the plan was to go to three. So when you see our whole series, you’ll see it can sit entirely alone but can also sit very much as the second book in the trilogy.”
Hiddleston stars in the series as Jonathan Pine, a former British intelligence operative. Olivia Colman also returns from the original and this time they’re joined by Diego Calva, Camila Morrone, Indira Varma, Paul Chahidi, Hayley Squires, Alistair Petrie, Douglas Hodge, Michael Nardone, and Noah Jupe.
