Netflix has premiered the trailer for the second season of “The Lincoln Lawyer,” its adaptation of Michael Connelly’s novel series about Los Angeles defense attorney Mickey Haller.
The series follows the legal misadventures of the crooked Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), who uses his car as an office to meet clients.
Hot off the success of his first season case involving a homicide, the second season trailer reveals Mickey will use his new fame to expand his business (whilst also catching the attention of enemies).
Whilst the first season adapted Connelly’s second book, “The Brass Verdict,” the new season will adapt the fourth book, “The Fifth Witness”.
In the new run, Haller is called on to defend a long-standing client, Lisa Trammel (Lana Parrilla), when she is suspected of murdering wealthy Mitchell Bondurant. Haller faces a prosecutor against whom he has never won, whilst the victim has links to organised crime.
Dailyn Rodriguez (“Queen of the South”) has boarded the drama as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Ted Humphrey as David E. Kelley is expected to be less involved this time out.
Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole and Angus Sampson all return for the second season which is being split in two – the first part releases on July 6th, the second on August 3rd.
