Maisy Stella (“Nashville”) and stage actress Tatum Grace Hopkins have been cast in the lead roles of Chloe and Max, respectively, in the TV series adaptation of the “Life is Strange” video game series.

Charlie Covell (“Kaos,” “Humans”) will write, executive produce and showrun the series, while Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson will also executive produce.

The story follows Max, a photography student, who discovers she can rewind time while saving her childhood best friend Chloe’s life.

As she struggles to understand this new skill, the pair investigate the mysterious disappearance of a fellow student, uncovering a dark side to their town that will ultimately force them to make an impossible life-or-death choice that will impact them forever.

The first game was released in 2015 to positive reviews and award nominations, with over 20 million total players having tried the game by 2023. A prequel, sequel and standalone were also released.

Square Enix, Story Kitchen, LuckyChap and Amazon MGM Studios are all producing the project.

Amazon has multiple game-to-TV series adaptations in the works, including the currently in production “God of War” and “Tomb Raider” series along with “Mass Effect,” “Wolfenstein,” and “Warhammer 40,000” all currently in development.
