Apple TV+ has announced plans for a limited series adaptation of Nancy Meyers’ 2006 well-regarded rom-com “The Holiday”.
That film revolved around Amanda (Cameron Diaz), a Los Angeles movie trailer company owner, and Iris (Kate Winslet), a London newspaper columnist who exchange houses on a whim after each suffers a heartbreak.
Amanda meets Iris’ widower brother (Jude Law) while Iris meets an associate of Amanda’s, a film composer (Jack Black) and sparks soon fly. The limited series aims to keep the setup of the movie
Krissie Ducker (“Sweetpea”) is writer/executive producer for the series, which will be produced by Left Bank Pictures, with Rob Delaney (“Catastrophe”) also writing.
A search is underway for well-known actresses to play the leads. Once those are locked, it’s expected the series will then get a green light. Meyers has reportedly no involvement in the project
