The Full “Twisters” Cast Announced

The full cast has been announced for “Twisters,” Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s upcoming sequel to the 1996 storm-chasing blockbuster “Twister”.

Boasting one of the more handsome ensembles ever to grace a disaster film, the cast includes Glen Powell, Sasha Lane, Katy O’Brian, Brandon Perea, Kiernan Shipka, David Corenswet, Anthony Ramos, Daryl McCormack, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Maura Tierney, Harry Hadden-Paton, Nik Dodani and Tunde Adebimpe.

Details as to the story of the new film and its characters are under wraps. The project is believed to take place within the same universe as the original film which starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton and was directed by Jan de Bont (“Speed”). Previous rumors suggested one of the characters could be the child of Hunt’s character from the original.

The 1996 film, which was penned by late author Michael Crichton and produced by Steven Spielberg, scored $494 million at the worldwide box office.

“Minari” helmer Lee Isaac Chung is directing “Twisters from” a screenplay by “The Revenant” scribe Mark L. Smith and has “Jurassic World” alum Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley attached to produce.

The project, which is being co-financed by Warner Bros. Pictures, will be released in cinemas on July 19th 2024.
