The CW is developing the drama “Gotham Knights” which hails from “Batwoman” writers Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux and Natalie Abrams.
The project is neither a “Batwoman” spin-off nor tied to the Warner Bros. Games title of the same name due next year, even as it is based on characters from DC Comics.
From the sounds of it, it will be set in a different continuity (ala “Titans”) from the CW’s Arrowverse shows, but will still be produced by Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti Productions.
In the series, Bruce Wayne has been murdered and his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for the death.
As the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names in a rapidly falling into chaos Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it. Hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives become its next generation of saviors.
Fiveash, Stoteraux, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden executive produce.
