The upcoming fifth season of Netflix’s “The Crown,” currently in production, will reportedly feature an entire episode dedicated to a recreation of the infamous interview Princess Diana had with journalist Martin Bashir on BBC’s “Panorama” program in 1995.
The Sun broke the report and according to their source, Netflix has spent millions on the episode which will star Elizabeth Debicki as Diana.
The interview made headlines again earlier this year when an independent investigation found Bashir forged documents to obtain the interview and the network was ruled as having fallen short of its signature high standards of integrity and transparency.
The BBC subsequently issued apologies to Prince Charles, her sons William and Harry, and her brother Earl Spencer. The fifth season of “The Crown” is due to air in November next year.
