20th Century Studios has released a new video featurette for “Godzilla” (2014) and “Rogue One” director Gareth Edwards’ new film sci-fi feature “The Creator”.
Actors like John David Washington, Allison Janney and Gemma Chan talk about the impact of the film and Edwards’ shooting style, which involved long takes and trying to really ground the fantastical story in emotion.
Edwards also speaks about the inspirations he had for the project, including the movies he grew up with. That’s all combined with a bunch of new footage from the film and behind-the-scenes clips.
The story is set amidst a future war between the human race and the forces of artificial intelligence. Hardened ex-special forces agent Joshua (Washington), grieving the disappearance of his wife (Chan), is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator – the elusive architect of advanced AI who has developed a mysterious weapon with the power to end the war… and mankind itself.
Joshua and his team of elite operatives journey across enemy lines into the dark heart of AI-occupied territory… only to discover the world-ending weapon he’s been instructed to destroy is an AI in the form of a young child.
Ken Watanabe, Sturgill Simpson and Madeleine Yuna Voyles co-star in the film, which 20th Century Studios will release exclusively in cinemas on September 29th.
