“The Boys” Spin-Off “Gen V” Cancelled

Amazon Prime’s “The Boys” is coming to an end in a few weeks, but sadly, the franchise is also losing another of its brethren before that.

TV Line reports that spin-off series “Gen V” has been cancelled, and the series won’t be returning for a third season.

The news comes six months after the second season of the well-received drama, set at the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, concluded.

The news was kind of expected as series regular Asa Germann recently booked a regular role on “Frisco King” on the Paramount+ service.

Nonetheless, characters from the series are expected to show up in the few remaining “The Boys” episodes – that series airs its finale on May 20th.

The franchise is set to continue with the spinoff “Vought Rising,” set to debut in 2027, and serves as a prequel to the shows so far. “The Boys: Mexico” also reportedly remains in active development.

The news also comes as actress Erin Moriarty, who plays Starlight on “The Boys,” has slammed plastic surgery rumours surrounding her and explained she was dealing with Graves’ disease (an autoimmune disorder) while filming the final season.
