An associate producer on Amazon Prime’s “The Boys” has teased that the currently in production fourth season is aiming to top the show’s third year in terms of grossness.
Stephan Fleet, visual effects supervisor and associate producer on the series, tweeted: “I think I just saw the most disgusting thing I have seen working in this business thus far” during filming of the new season.
The series has seen multiple gory deaths, the infamous superhero sex party sequence, a scene involving the swallowing of a live octopus, and of course, the famed scene from last year’s premiere that was essentially a take on the “Ant-Man explode inside Thanos” meme, albeit from the other end.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan has joined the cast of the new season alongside Valorie Curry as Firecracker and Susan Heyward as Sister Sage. Simon Pegg is also returning as Hughie’s dad alongside Rosemarie DeWitt as Hughie’s mother and both Rob Benedict and Elliot Knight in undisclosed roles.
