NBC has announced July 13th as the end date of its ten-season-long James Spader-led action-drama series “The Blacklist”.
In order to reach that, however, the series is shifting around how it will air its remaining episodes. Currently in the middle of airing the final season, the 14th episode will air as usual this coming Sunday at 10pm.
After that, the schedule is shifting, so new episodes will air on Thursdays starting June 1st. This starts with a double header – episodes 15 and 16 – at 8pm and 9pm respectively.
Then the remaining single hour-long episodes will only air weekly in Thursday 8pm slot right up until the finale, which will be a double episode kicking off at 8pm on July 13th.
Next week’s double episode sees Red provides the Task Force with three criminal cases that are deeper than they appear and a corrupt lawyer who is linked to a string of corporate cover-ups. Meanwhile, Senator Panabaker and Cooper wait for a judge’s decision that will decide the fate of the task force.
The series has notably almost run out of the 200 slots on its blacklist of criminals. One mystery fans are debating is the identity of No. 2 on the list, which remains unknown at this time.
Last season “The Blacklist” reached 29.1 million viewers on NBC and remains a staple for the network.
