FX has officially ordered a fifth season of its Emmy-winning series “The Bear,” the renewal coming through less than a week after the fourth season premiered in full on June 25th.
FX and Hulu have yet to release any viewing figures for season four and it’s too early for the title to show up on Nielsen’s streaming Top 10.
However the third season spent six weeks on Nielsen’s streaming top 10 charts and snagged 4.5 billion viewing minutes in the process, something the fourth season will have to live up to.
FX chairman John Landgraf said in a statement: “[The] response to this season – as seen through incredibly high viewership – has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons.”
The fourth season was shot mostly back-to-back with the third season and sees the staff of The Bear trying to move the restaurant forward before they run out of money.
Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson also star with Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon in recurring roles.
The fifth season is expected to air sometime in 2026.
