“The Batman” Set Photos Tease Batcave

Filmmaker Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” is continuing production in the UK and new behind-the-scenes photos from the set have gone online showing an aerial view of some Gotham City sets and the exterior of the new Batcave.

A massive set built in its own part of the lot, the exterior of the cave is an “immense rock face which had been decorated with trees and shrubbery to exaggerate how vast the structure is”.

The inside of the Batcave was not visible, but a large hole has been built into the side of the set piece so that the crew could film Robert Pattinson inside the lair from multiple angles.

Also built are building facades to represent the gritty streets of Gotham City including some that appeared to be burnt out or dilapidated and one the entrance to the ‘Gotham Harbour Iceberg Fishing Company’ – potentially a location used by Colin Farrell’s The Penguin.

Photos included in the article also show a snowy public arena with statues though it was later speculated at least some of the shots are sets for the third “Fantastic Beasts” film.
