Netflix has surprised everybody with a teaser trailer for the “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” follow-up “The Adventures of Cliff Booth,” the clip for the David Fincher-directed film airing during the Super Bowl broadcast this year and is set to a version of Henry Mancini’s “Peter Gunn” theme.
The story will center on Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), the former stuntman and body double to TV actor Rick Dalton in a period set a good few years after that film when Cliff is now a Hollywood fixer.
Tarantino originally wrote the script for himself to direct, but eventually put it aside before Pitt convinced the filmmaker to let Fincher direct.
Scott Caan, Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, Holt McCallany, Corey Fogelmanis, JB Tadena, Peter Weller and Timothy Olyphant co-star.
The project will reportedly be Tarantino and Fincher’s most expensive film, as the former told What’s On Netflix that it boasts a budget in the region of $200 million.
Tarantino, Pitt, David Heyman, Ceán Chaffin and Stacey Sher will produce while Erik Messerschmidt serves as director of photography on the film, which was shot in Los Angeles.
“The Adventures of Cliff Booth” hits cinemas and Netflix sometime in 2026.
