The 2022 Emmys Did Not Rate Well

Television Academy

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards aired on Monday night, going up against Monday Night Football’s season debut on ABC and ESPN, and got somewhat slaughtered in the process.

The ceremony reportedly drew in just 5.92 million viewers and a 1.09/8 rating on NBC – an all-time low for TV’s big night. That’s down 19% on last year.

In comparison to the last time the Emmys aired on a Monday night back in 2018 when “Game of Thrones” dominated the night, the ceremony fell a steep 41% in overall viewers and over 54% in the key 18-49 demo.

In comparison, the Seahawks vs. Broncos game garnered 10.29 million viewers almost double the Emmys.
