“Tenet” Star Surprised By Trailer Reveals

Aside from the SnyderCut, the other big news this week was the new trailer for Chris Nolan’s “Tenet” which finally showed off a hint of what to expect from the global espionage thriller.

The trailer was both vague and yet revealing in some basic ways, so much so even the film’s star John David Washington was taken aback by how much Nolan gave away.

In a Fortnite-hosted interview following the release, Washington says he was surprised by the “nuggets of information and just breadcrumbs of information about the movie” that Nolan revealed. He adds: “We’re familiar with [Nolan’s] films, but this seems like something different. It seems like this is where he’s about to take us for the next 10, 15 years of filmmaking.”

Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” trillgy and “Inception” both impacted blockbuster filmmaking for much of the last decade or so, lightning may strike again here.

Nolan’s also earned some new fans in recent days with the reveal that he’s a major fan of “MacGruber” and sent an e-mail to the guys working on the new TV series spin-offs pilot saying: “Though I can’t be there in person to watch you take the first step of your odyssey – know that my spirit soars with you, and whilst it’s perhaps unfair to add to the great sense of responsibility you must already feel, I am duty bound to tell you—the world is waiting, the world is watching.”

Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clemence Poesy, Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh all star in “Tenet” which hopefully opens July 17th.
