Greg Cipes, the voice actor who has played Beast Boy for over twenty years across shows like “Teen Titans” and “Teen Titans Go!,” has spoken about claims he was fired from the series.
Replying to an Instagram post on Sunday about his being let go from the Cartoon Network series “Teen Titans Go!,” the actor alleges he was unjustly fired “on Valentine’s Day right after I publicly shared my Parkinson’s diagnosis”.
He adds that: “It’s like a death to me that only the fans can bring back to life.” The original poster, DC superfan Emmanuel Newsome, says he will be creating a petition for Cipes to get his job back.
Further replies within the post (via Bleeding Cool) has Cipes claiming WB made him audition three times to continue on next season, whereas the rest of the cast was automatically renewed.
Cipes has voiced the character throughout the show’s nine-season run of “Teen Titans Go!” which has churned out over 400 episodes since 2013.
Cipes has a long voice career with roles like Michelangelo in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (2012), Kevin Levin in “Ben 10: Alien Force,” Craz in “Gravity Falls,” Tu in “The Legend of Korra,” Iron Fist in “Ultimate Spider-Man”, and Splaat from “RoboSplaat!” among many others.
