“Ted Lasso,” “Warrior Nun” Renewed

Just one week after sports comedy “Ted Lasso” premiered its first three episodes at once on Apple TV+, the tech giant has chosen to renew the Jason Sudeikis-led series for a second season. The second season will consist of ten episodes and is slated to premiere on Apple TV+ sometime next year.

Co-written by Sudeikis and Bill Lawrence, the half-hour comedy follows the NBC Sports comedic promo character who is suddenly hired to manage an English soccer team despite not having any soccer coaching experience

That’s not the only renewal today as Netflix has officially renewed the surprise hit series “Warrior Nun” for a second season just over a month after the fantasy adaptation launched its ten-episode first season run and ended with a big cliffhanger.

Both streamers are gearing up on productions again with the final season of “Ozark” set to begin production November 9th, while the final two episodes of the second season of “For All Mankind” will be shot shortly on the Sony lot.

Not everyone is winning though. Netflix has canceled its talk show “Patriot Act With Hasan Minhaj” after two years and 39 episodes. That show’s final episode debuted June 26th and the host announced the cancellation on Twitter early Tuesday.
