Filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie has confirmed via Instagram that “Ted Lasso” and “Game of Thrones” star Hannah Waddingham has officially joined the ensemble cast of “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two”.
McQuarrie shared a first-look photo of her mystery character in the project and whilst he didn’t share any details, we do know the project has been filming on an aircraft carrier off the coast of Italy with this shot looking like it was taken onboard. Further to that, the word ‘strike’ can be clearly seen on Waddingham’s cap suggesting she could be a member of the Navy.
Cruise and company have spent plenty of time since the early days of the pandemic filming the seventh and eighth “Mission: Impossible” features across much of Europe and other parts of the world.
The cast includes Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Vanessa Kirby, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Esai Morales, Cary Elwes, Shea Whigham, Indira Varma, Mark Gatiss, Rob Delaney and Greg Tarzan Davis for the first part whilst Holt McCallany, Nick Offerman, and Janet McTeer hop onboard in the second part.
“Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” opens July 14th and boasts a budget estimated to be around $290 million. ‘Dead Reckoning Part Two’ was shot throughout much of last year though some further shooting has been done this year. That film will open June 28th 2024.
