Searchlight Pictures has premiered the trailer for “Skyfall” and “1917” helmer Sam Mendes’ new feature “Empire of Light” which is expected to be a potential awards contender in the Fall.
Set in an English seaside town in the early 1980s, the project is dubbed a “powerful and poignant story about human connection and the magic of cinema”.
Olivia Colman, Micheal Ward, Tom Brooke, Tanya Moodie, Hannah Onslow, Crystal Clarke, Toby Jones and Colin Firth star in the film which will release exclusively in cinemas in December.
