Teaser Trailer: Julia Ducournau’s “Alpha”

NEON

Following her success with 2016’s “Raw” and 2021’s Palme d’Or-winning Cannes Film Festival entry “Titane,” French filmmaker Julia Ducournau returns with disaster feature “Alpha”.

Distributor NEON has released a teaser trailer for the new film which focuses on a 13-year-old girl (Golshifteh Farahani) dealing with a global disaster.

As she returns home from school to her single mother, their world collapses and they must deal with this new reality.

Tahar Rahim, Melissa Broros, Emma Mackey, Finnegan Oldfield, and Louai El Amrousy co-star in the film dubbed Ducournau’s “most personal, profound work yet”.

Her two previous films delved deeply into the body horror subgenre, and the trailer hints that will continue here.

NEON is slated to release the film sometime in October this year.
