Teaser Trailer: Eli Roth’s “Thanksgiving”

TriStar Pictures

Tristar Pictures and Spyglass Media has premiered the first trailer for the Eli Roth-directed horror slasher feature “Thanksgiving” which opens in cinemas in November.

The project is based on the faux trailer that Roth made sixteen years ago for “Grindhouse” which follows a killer in a pilgrim costume.

Said killer visits a small town in Massachusetts with the hopes of creating a carving board out of the town’s Turkey-loving inhabitants.

The original faux trailer was notable for its gory kills. Specifics of the feature film version are under wraps, but some scenes from that trailer have been recreated here with a decidedly bigger budget.

Patrick Dempsey, Nell Verlaque, Addison Rae, Jalen Thomas Brooks and Milo Manheim co-star. Roth is directing and producing the project, while Jeff Rendel is writing the screenplay. Roger Birnbaum also produces.

Roth broke through as a director of gory horror like “Cabin Fever” and “Hostel” before trying other genres with films like “The House with a Clock in Its Walls”. He has the film adaptation of the video game “Borderlands” on the way.
