Focus Features has premiered the official teaser trailer for the highly acclaimed horror feature “Obsession” which first played at the Toronto film fest where it was named first runner-up for the People’s Choice Award: Midnight Madness.
It marks the second film of actor turned filmmaker Curry Barker whose film “Milk & Serial” became a viral video sensation in 2024. This new film currently sits at a 97% in Rotten Tomatoes from 33 reviews.
After breaking the mysterious ‘One Wish Willow’ to win his crush’s heart, a hopeless romantic finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price.
The ensemble cast includes Michael Johnston (“Slash”), Inde Navarrette (“Superman & Lois”), Cooper Tomlinson (“Treasure Trackers”), Megan Lawless (“The Hate U Give”), and Andy Richter (“Elf”).
James Harris, Haley Nicole Johnson, and Christian Mercuri produce. Focus acquired the rights in a $14 million deal. Barker is already at work on his third feature film “Anything But Ghosts” with Jason Blum and Roy Lee producing.
“Obsession” opens in cinemas on May 15th.
